The University of Karachi (Urdu: ????? ????? ) is a public university located in Karachi, Pakistan. It serves an on-campus student population of more than 24,000. According to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, it is ranked among the top universities of the country. The university has made itself known by producing the largest amount of research output in terms of patent, international peer reviewed, journals and organizing regular academic conferences. In 2008 the university entered the THE-QS World University Rankings for the top 500 universities in the world.
Karachi:University of Karachi on Friday declared the result of B.A (Part-I) Regular Annual Examination 2009. In all 7,364 candidates were registered, 7,065 candidates appeared in the examination and only 2,219 candidates passed while 4,846 candidates failed. The pass percentage stood at 31.40 %, result notification said. The Examination Department also withheld result of a large number of candidates. This included 43 for enrolment; 6 for unauthorised change of subject; 37 for using unfair means and 4 for want of particulars.
