Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter got the story of the Tunisian uprising out, with pictures of the protests spreading like wildfire across the Arab world and binding audiences to the ever changing story.

Western news outlets on the other hand, at least initially, failed to give the story the coverage it deserved. On this episode of Listening Post, we look at the role media – new and old – played in the Tunisian revolution.
